One-to-One Tuition - Science

Whickham School wishes to appoint one to one tutors with expertise in Science.

We have a proven system that identifies the needs of pupils and we will support you to help pupils' make rapid improvements. We will provide training and support before you work with our pupils and you will be guided by subject teachers throughout the course of tutoring.

The ideal candidate(s) will have the ability to teach creatively, adapting to the needs of each learner and must have good core subject knowledge. You must be open minded / non-judgemental and have the ability to build a rapport quickly in order to achieve the best results.

1:1 tutor for Science

The successful candidate person needs to:

- Tutor for 3 hours per week over 2 x 1.5hr sessions ideally on Monday and Wednesday mornings

- Be familiar with AQA combined science trilogy

- Have experience of working with children with SEND needs

Essential:

- Must have QTS

Desirable:

Hold qualified teacher status, or are a qualified HE or FE teacher.

A track record of effective teaching.

Experience of tutoring.

The ability to work electronically using conferencing software.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake enhanced DBS checks.

Salary: £30 per hour for those with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Contract type: Part Time

These roles mirror the national teaching programme and therefore are pensionable under the LGPS. The rates quoted include holiday pay.
