Full Job Description
Theatr Clwyd are seeking an early career director who is excited about Community Theatre.
The role of assistant director is a key member of the creative team, supporting the Director (Emyr John) in the room, this hand-on experience is full time role and will also involve being on local tour with the production.
Please note this is a freelance, fixed-term position, and is open to people born, raised, or living in Wales.
Duties include:
- Working in the rehearsal room and note taking during the rehearsal process
- Researching topics relating to the youth justice system pre rehearsals and during.
- Assisting the stage management team and director with scheduling across the process
- Assisting with script editing
- Staff director on tour
- Other duties as assigned
About Justice in a Day:
Working in partnership with PACT (North Wales Police's Police and Community Trust), North Wales Police, HM Courts, Magistrates and the Youth Justice Service, Justice in a Day is an interactive performance and workshop which is targeted at pupils in year 8/9 who are at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
Justice in a day encourages young people to explore their choices, consequential thinking, and how to avoid becoming involved in the Criminal Justice System by focusing on the impact that a criminal action can have on an offender, a victim, their families and the wider community.

Rehearsals begin: Mon 30th September 2024 in Mold, North Wales
Tour:
Conwy 14th-18th October
Wrexham 21st-25th October
