Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity for an Operability and Step Testing Specialist to join our team in our North London depot
(Thames). As part of the contract partnership between Thames & Hydrosave, you'll carry out network activities to ensure the DMA is
operable and meters are recording correctly prior to Leakage Reduction Technicians working in the area. As well as this you'll be
expected to also carry out Step Testing activities to identify or narrow down any potential Leakage, UFW or NRW. As part of the
Leakage Reduction Contract, you'll carry out all activities associated with the below factors across the North London region, both
Central North and Eastern North DMA's or where the work is identified to achieve the results required.

What's the role:

  • Carry out field activities to prove or disprove the integrity of a DMA, including Boundary Valve Proving to verify Thames Water

  • Network plans are correct
  • Carry out District Meter Flow Tests, DMA Isolations and boundary proving to ascertain that the consumption reported by Thames

  • Water & Corporate Systems is correct.
  • Create LCA's whether it is short term or permanent to identify and manage possible leakage or NRW within that DMA

  • Carry out Step Testing activities to narrow down potential Leakage & UFW/NRW

  • Data capture, accurate timekeeping and correct completion of timesheets and other records including night by night activities.

  • Field activity to validate the integrity of the DMA.

  • Field activity in DMAs to confirm/ identify actual or potential sources of Unaccounted-for Water

  • Collation of results and report back to those within the organisation structure laid out above.

    Water network knowledge and experience, Valve Ops accreditation, and a good understanding of all sources of potential UFW/NRW.

  • Good track record in detecting and proving both mains side and customer side leakage, and experience with various types of flow

  • and pressure logging equipment.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, including the maintenance and use of PPE.

  • Good client management and customer satisfaction skills, complemented by good communication skills

  • Proven track record in data analysis, recording, and reporting, along with good knowledge and use of BOPs.

  • Motivated as part of a team and experienced in deploying both domestic and commercial loggers.
