Full Job Description

The Operational Finance Analyst will be responsible for all general queries and reporting with the operational finance team. The operational finance team covers E-bills, Customs, Smart border, Transport and Operational support, Key Accounts (MOD, GSK, A&D), and FSL closure. Specific people are employed to deal with each specific area resulting in all general enquiries or across function enquiries being handled by the Operational Finance Manager. There is a demand for a role which is integrated to all areas and freeing up the Operational Finance Manager from day-to-day tactical task and focusing on team performance and direction of the whole team.,

  • Dealing with all general queries from internal Kuehne+Nagel employees relating to operational finance.

  • Assist in all areas by being a resource who can add extra support to an area when workload dictates.

  • Contribute to the onboarding and training of new team members, facilitating their integration and understanding of operational finance processes.

  • Take responsibility for drafting, implementing, and communicating new operational finance processes to the team.

  • Oversee the control and management of both new and existing processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

  • Measure and report on department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing insights into performance and areas for improvement.

  • Point of contact in any projects where the operational finance team are involved and also ensure all strategic projects are reviewed as an end to end and include the billing and collecting of debt.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for projects involving the operational finance team, ensuring comprehensive reviews of strategic projects, including billing and debt collection.

  • Identify and anticipate trends, challenges, and opportunities within the operational finance domain, and engage proactively with other departments as required.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the team.

    Demonstrated experience in logistics or business administration, with a solid understanding of operations, products, services, and processes.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with Kuehne+Nagel systems (e.g., ACON, Dotnet). Strong IT skills with the ability to apply technological solutions effectively.

  • A strategic mindset with the ability to apply business and market knowledge to drive strategy and actions. Ability to understand and execute new processes efficiently.

  • Performance-oriented work ethic with a focus on measuring and tracking performance. Self-disciplined, proactive, and motivated to achieve with a willingness to learn and improve.

  • Effective communicator with strong inter-departmental skills. Able to build good working relationships at all levels and demonstrate a positive attitude towards change.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with excellent organizational skills. Capable of managing time effectively, setting priorities, and fulfilling critical tasks within strict deadlines.

  • A key team player who can also work independently and take initiative. Adaptable and flexible with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of company confidentiality, compliance regulations (Code of Conduct), and KN QSHE Policies. Ability to understand and execute customer SOPs effectively.
