Operational Support Chef

Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is looking for a skilled and motivated Operational Support Chef to join our catering team. This dynamic role offers variety, growth, and the opportunity to work in a supportive educational environment. What You'll Do:

• Cook with creativity - Prepare and serve nutritionally balanced, imaginative dishes that delight our school communities.
• Support excellence - Contribute to achieving the 'Food for Life Partnership Scheme' standards while managing health and safety in compliance with COSHH and HACCP.
• Collaborate and develop - Work with and mentor catering staff to enhance service efficiency.
• Be adaptable - Cover kitchens across our schools and help with menu planning, dietary needs, stock control, and budgeting.
• Operational expertise - Oversee food orders, manage food service areas, and ensure accurate readings for cashless catering systems.
  
  Essential:
• At least 2 years' experience as a Head Chef or similar role.
• Relevant catering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 2/3).
• Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and health & safety in catering.
• Budget and cost management skills.
• Excellent team management, communication, and organisational abilities.
Desirable:
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Level 3 food hygiene certification.
