Full Job Description

Urgent Care at BCH are looking for the right individual to join their team as a Band 5 Operational Support Manager (OSM). This is the perfect opportunity for an engaged and enthusiastic candidate to take their next career step into operational management and leadership. You will play a vital role in the smooth delivery of the General Paediatrics service and Emergency Department.,

  • To manage Medical Secretarial staff to ensure the efficient, effective medical secretarial support is provided to the relevant clinical specialty on a daily basis.
  • To support Medical Secretaries in the conduct of their role; co-ordinating training & development, and promoting career progression.
  • To ensure the adoption of administrative best practice, especially in respect of waiting list / patient access targets.
  • To encourage a culture of communication and promote the concept of effective team-working within the group.
  • Medical secretary awareness & compliance with relevant Trust policies
  • To ensure the provision of full medical secretarial support to Consultants within the relevant specialty.
