This is an exciting opportunity for a registered mental health professional (nursing, occupational therapy or social work) to join the new North Kent Community Rehabilitation Service as Operational Team Manager. Within this role you'll help launch & develop this new service & be a part of the exciting Rehabilitation Strategy improving patient recovery. Under the direction of the Service Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the new Community Rehabilitation Service in North Kent. You will manage a team of clinical staff & be responsible for supporting individuals to reach their potential & to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care. The Community Rehabilitation Service provides a flexible range of mental health interventions to help clients complex mental health needs to manage their mental health more effectively & remain in their own homes. The team works in close partnership with Social Care & housing providers to ensure each client has the necessary resources available to enable them to engage in their rehab journey. Across the Community Rehabilitation teams, the clinical team consists of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, & VCSE Workers., To provide operational leadership and coordination of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of effective, efficient and high-quality service for service users. The role will include operational responsibilities; You will:
- line manage clinical staff.
- utilise data to monitor the performance of the service against performance and quality indicators.
- use your leadership skills to motivate and support high levels of performance amongst your team and delivery of quality care.
- ensure that Trust policies are adhered to and take appropriate action where performance and conduct issues arise.
- have a lead role in the recruitment and retention of staff.
- be required to liaise and collaborate with other services to promote and enhance patient experience and recovery.
- ensure clear and accurate communication to the team and be able to escalate concerns to the senior management team as needed.
- work with the Patient Safety and Quality team to improve clinical quality and safety, ensuring the risk register is kept up to date and incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner and that learning is shared with the team.
- work with the clinical and admin leads to ensure the team works to continuously improve the safe and effective delivery of care and that the patient and carer experience is positive.
- ensure complaints are dealt with in a timely manner and any learning is shared and embedded.
The ideal applicant will have experience of working as a band 6 practitioner in a community mental health service. You'll be competent at managing a complex caseload & have a good understanding of the health & social needs. You'll also have supervisory & leadership experience.
