Full Job Description

Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, the Operations Assistant will provide a wide range of essential support to our five person team. They will ensure we offer an inclusive environment for Welsh Fintechs and supporters of our ecosystem, as well as aiding the team to operate as efficiently as possible. There is an opportunity for the right person to progress into an Operations Management role with increased hours and package adjusted accordingly.,

  • Coordinate - coordinate the use of our 2,500sq ft office in central Cardiff including coordinating bookings and access for members

  • Supplier management - manage our office suppliers e.g. internet, gas, electricity, consumables

  • Health and safety - manage our day to day health and safety obligations, with the support of the CEO

  • Office Security - manage the opening and closing of the office ensuring access for visitors and members


  • Team and admin support (40% of the time)
  • Diary support - support the team to maintain a manageable diary, including booking in key sessions e.g. events and Board meetings

  • Finance support - support our CEO and bookkeeper with administrative financial tasks e.g. finding invoice details

  • Travel coordination - coordinate travel for the team to UK and international events

  • Document management - management and development of key documents e.g. proposals, board packs. A presentation wizard would be a real asset to our team!

  • Ad hoc tasks - FTW is an exciting and dynamic place to work, we are looking for someone who has a can do attitude and is willing to pitch in on ad hoc projects when required


  • Event Support (30% of the time)
  • Planning - support our Marketing team to plan and prepare for events e.g. organising catering, venues

  • Support - support FTW events, these may sometimes be outside normal office hours (you will get time off in lieu)


  • Key Measures (what success looks like)
  • A well coordinated and welcoming office - ensuring our space is somewhere members and guests enjoy spending time, and that the space is run smoothly and efficiently.

  • An enabled FinTech Wales Team - helping everyone to be the best they can be at their jobs by enabling them to spend time where it really matters

    Highly organised, efficient and willing to get stuck in.

  • 2+ years experience as a Team/Executive/Operations Assistant preferred

  • Enjoys working in a people-facing role.

  • A problem solver who can head off issues before they arise., GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

    Salary of £20,000 - £25,000 pro rata per annum, dependent on experience.

  • Based in our Cardiff City Centre office 3 days per week.
