Atkins Search have been retained by our client to recruit an Operations Controller to join their team. Our client is a profitable, multi-disciplined main contractor looking to add additional talent to their team, with projects consisting of void, minor work refurbishments, kitchen & bathroom refurbishments and M&E schemes on behalf of local authorities.

  • Role

    As the Operations Controller, you will be working closely with the Commercial and Operations teams to proactively plan, forecast and manage schedules of work to ensure a smooth and proactive process for the delivery of schemes.

    You will be a key member of the team in supporting various business units, taking responsibility for the planning and control aspects of projects, alongside other Operations Controllers in the business.

    Responsibilities
  • Manage and liaise with customers regarding orders, enquiries and job progress, while demonstrating excellent standards of customer care

  • Manage and schedule teams to ensure completion of projects within the required timescales and meeting reporting requirements relating to payroll, attendance H&S and training

  • Manage both internal/external computer applications ensuring project information is captured and communicated. This will involve logging jobs and orders, producing reports, schedules, submission of information for invoice authorisation to customer portals and producing correspondence and other information as required

  • Work with suppliers to manage pricing, raising purchase orders and ensuring deliveries are made to meet internal and project targets

  • Manage stock control of stock in our stores, vans and project sites

  • Manage customer comments and complaints

  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information within Data Protection guidelines

    The ideal Operations Controller will have experience working within the facilities management or similar sectors, will have excellent organisational skills and a proactive and positive approach.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Good numeracy skills and IT literate with data analytical skills

  • Experience of working in fast paced, reactive environment

  • Experience of dealing with and managing customers/suppliers/employees

  • Proficient in the use of MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams)

  • Experience of managing business processes using mainframe systems

  • Possess an ability to adapt and understand various customer systems for information management

  • Experience in construction related industry useful but not essential

  • Good understand of modern production planning, allocation & control

  • Understands MPS / MRP / BOM / kitting etc
