Full Job Description

As the Operations Improvement Manager , you will lead and manage improvement projects across West London's Household Reuse and Recycling Centres (HRRCs) and waste transfer stations. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the operational efficiency, health, and safety compliance of our sites. Key responsibilities include :

  • Project Management : Identify and deliver improvement projects across key operational areas, including site infrastructure, materials management, and customer service.
  • Health & Safety : Ensure all activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, striving to exceed standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including site staff, contractors, and local authorities, to align project goals with the overall strategy.
  • Data Management & Reporting : Analyse performance data to drive operational improvements and provide clear, actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Budget Oversight : Assist in managing contracts and projects with budgets up to £3 million, ensuring financial resources are used effectively.
  • Leadership : Deputise for the Operations Manager and Senior Site Manager when needed, leading daily operations and mentoring staff.

    We are seeking candidates with a strong background in waste management and project management. The ideal candidate will :
  • Hold an IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification
  • Have experience delivering improvements in waste management settings
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills, including developing business cases and managing budgets
  • Be skilled in using data and data visualisation to support decision-making
  • Possess excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information to diverse audiences
  • Have experience managing contracts and working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Be familiar with COTC (Certificate of Technical Competence) or be working towards it, You may have experience in roles such as Waste Management Project Manager, Environmental Operations Manager, Recycling Services Manager, or Site Improvement Specialist.
