If you are an inquisitive thinker with great ideas and a desire to succeed, we will find the perfect spot for you on our team., The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of our manufacturing and engineering facility, ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and compliant with industry standards. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, and maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimise resources, implement best practices, and achieve strategic business objectives Responsibilities Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of production and factory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production goals, productivity targets, and quality standards. Production Oversight:
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and safe execution of manufacturing operations to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor and report on production metrics and KPIs, analysing data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits and training.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and best practices in manufacturing processes. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations, e.g. AS9100.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to minimize defects and enhance product reliability. Resource Management:
- Manage inventory levels, procurement, and supply chain logistics to optimize production flow and minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to facilitate smooth transitions from design to production.
- Manage staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations. Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and assessments to drive operational excellence.
Post-Secondary degree or equivalent of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations. Experience: - 5 years of experience in operations management within the aerospace industry or a closely related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing production teams and driving operational efficiency. Skills:
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- Proficiency in data analysis, project management, and operational planning tools.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is highly desirable. Certifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt) are a plus.
