Full Job Description

You will work as part of the management team and be responsible for the Administrative & Clerical Team to coordinate the administrative RTT pathway for patients, and with the Medical Secretary Supervisor, Waiting List team and Deputy Operations Manager to coordinate the work of the specialty admin team, ensuring there is effective co-operation between departments involved in the delivery of services for the RTT pathway, cancer and trauma services.

You are responsible for the collection of accurate and timely data regarding patients, and ensuring that both outpatient and inpatient capacity is sufficient for demand both in real time and looking forward.

You will be actively involved in service improvement programmes to streamline the patient pathway and improve the quality of patient care. You will also support and coordinate on strategic plans for services.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve working with a range of staff across the entire organisation, but particularly in the Kent & Canterbury Hospital Care Group. The post will be within Trauma & Orthopaedics but you may be asked to provide immediate support to other areas when necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly are essential.

The emphasis of this post will be on both elective surgery and out-patient bookings, following patients through the whole 18-week pathway as well as the smooth running of our Trauma services.

You will be expected to effectively lead on appropriate plans to identify and escalate gaps in capital/revenue items and help support the development of projects relating to these gaps
