Full Job Description

Successful delivery of strategic projects across the full lifecycle, including working with the COOs to deliver pre-defined objectives Understand Howden Re growth strategy and therefore the context for the strategic projects to be delivered Develop relationships and understand business need; identify delivery approach, monitor progress and adapt as needed to ensure successful delivery of business value Specific tasks include:

  • Driving delivery of projects

  • Identifying the resources required to do the work, developing a plan to ensure delivery of benefit, managing time lines and budgets where appropriate, and being the single point of contact for specific projects

  • Handing over to IT where appropriate, and working with the IT department when there is an IT element

  • Review, report and challenge project progress; raise red flags to appropriate leadership when necessary

  • Build relationships with Howden Group (Business Services, Finance, and other support functions) to ensure successful cross-functional team delivery of projects

  • Initial idea refinement with the Executive and/or Business team, understanding the stakeholders and building business cases and plans, checking developed solutions match requirements and customer expectation prior to delivery

  • Be an active member of the Howden Re Operations team

  • Work with the Project Portfolio Manager to support the creation of best practices and participate in the prioritisation/triage process for any new projects

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified.

    Proven record of successful project and programme management deliveries (10+ years with increasing responsibility)

  • Self-starter with superior attention to detail and ability to deliver with minimal supervision

  • High proficiency with data and analytical reporting

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Experience building relationships at all levels

  • (Re)Insurance in a broking or underwriting environment

  • London market experience preferred but not required

  • Working in a FCA regulated environment preferred by not required
