Full Job Description

The Operations Technical Coordinator role is to support the effective management of the day to day operations of our business, HSE policies and ergonomic requirements with a 'hands-on' approach.

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the role holder shall administer the production organisation. This will include coordination of maintenance schedules, stock management and procurement of PPE, tooling and chemicals to support the team, SAP system management problem resolution, KPI management and production data base management.

  • No direct reports.


  • Responsible for PPE, tooling and consumable spend £40K Pa.


  • Responsible for management of tooling and calibration within the production area.


  • Supporting 30+ skilled manufacturers.


  • Physically located on the line.


  • Move between modules/cells as needed.


  • Responsible for subcontracted activities from the production area.


  • Ensures cell administration is effectively managed in order to achieve plans, responsible for the management of shelf life limited products, addresses stores queries.


  • Budget responsibility for indirect procurement in the designated area, Responsible for tooling and miscellaneous procurement definition & requests, Responsible for Calibration recall and database management within the production area.


  • Coordination planning of rotas and overtime


  • ERP / work instruction system support and trouble shooting including Report generation for module managers. Ensures production databases are up to date and escalations are managed within the production team.


  • Effective management of the training skills database and ODR processes.


  • Training plans up to date and courses coordinated without significant disruption to production.


  • No line stops due to time limited products or equipment.


  • All O/T planned 3 days in advance with the team leader and approved by module manager.


  • Data accuracy of more than 95 % in all production databases.


  • Queries / correction in ERP system resolved in 24 hours.

    A strong manufacturing background is preferred.


  • Previous experience of leading and coordinating admin activities in a manufacturing environment.


  • Able to champion and show full endorsement of business goals and objectives.


  • Demonstrated high levels of 'change energy' to continually motivate team towards change implementation.


  • Capable of interpreting KPI's and developing appropriate actions.


  • A keenly developed sense of right first time attitude towards quality of their work.


  • Good communication & negotiation skills and ability to build relationships at all levels


  • Positive attitude with ability to adopt 'hands-on' approach when required.


  • Resourceful with flexible approach to deal with barriers in daily work.


  • Good time management is key with excellent organisation and planning skills.


  • Self-motivated with a proactive working style


  • Good knowledge of ERP and Microsoft applications particularly SAP, word and excel.
