Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist

The post holder will provide skilled diagnostic imaging services to the ophthalmic imaging and outpatient teams for the provision and overall smooth running of our clinical services., + OCT acquisition using Heidelberg and Topcon imaging systems.
+ Fundus fluorescein angiography and indocyanine green angiography using the Heidelberg and Optos imaging systems.
+ Fundus imaging using Kowa and Optos systems.
+ Anterior segment imaging using the Carleton Optical imaging system.
+ Administrative preparation for virtual imaging clinics.
+ Continually monitor and audit departmental workload.
+ Active participation in weekly image review meetings

Working for our organisation
The Department of Ophthalmology sits within the Directorate of Medical Specialties at GSTT.
We provide the full spectrum of Ophthalmology sub-specialties, including large General, Cataract, Glaucoma, Medical Retina and Paediatric services for our local population. We also host the Medical Eye Unit, which receives referrals nationally, to manage patients with highly complex medical eye conditions.
Ophthalmology is delivered from the St Thomas' Hospital site. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different locations owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service.

We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.
