The role will include general ophthalmic nursing care as well as assisting the specialist nurse practitioners and medical staff administering the treatment., The Trust is committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance and achieve fair, equitable and consistent practice. Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £23 (standard disclosure) or £43 (enhanced disclosure) will be deducted from salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment. Bank posts require upfront payment. DBS applications submitted from 2nd December will be subject to the new DBS fee of £26.50 (standard) and £54.50 (Enhanced). From April 2017, Skilled visa applicants and their adult dependant(s) will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have lived in consecutively for 12 months or more in the past ten years. Applicants requiring sponsorship may wish to determine the likelihood of obtaining sponsorship for this position by assessing themselves against the criteria on the gov.uk website - https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa. The successful candidate will have experience within a hospital Ophthalmology unit and experience with Macular patients undergoing intravitreal injections., The successful candidate must have recognised ophthalmic nursing qualifications or working towards such, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and be able to work on a variety of IT systems., The successful candidate must be able to work well within a team and to liaise with other members of both the ophthalmic team and the multidisciplinary team.,
- Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
- Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent
- Post registration qualification in speciality Desirable criteria
- 1st level degree, Evidence of management experience
- Evidence of change management
- Application of evidence based practice
- Evidence of developing high standards of patient care
- Lead role in education of staff and patients, Application of current nursing issues and healthcare governance, Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in changing environments
- Basic IT skills, including e-mail and word processing, Supportive of colleagues
- High level of personal and professional credibility
- Well motivated, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
