Full Job Description

  • Duties will include covering the Ophthalmology reception, entering information and booking appointments onto the hospital patient data computer system (Cerner Millennium), clinic notes prep, making/taking telephone calls, ensuring outcome forms are correctly completed and escalating appropriately, any other admin duties as required, which may including typing., Receive patients and relatives at reception in a friendly and courteous manner
  • To maintain patient details/appointments efficiently on the patient administration system (Millennium) To process GP and consultant referrals to the Eye Clinic, ensuring that all referral information is accurately logged To carry out other clerical duties as required; this will include scanning and attaching documents to patient's electronic records, updating spreadsheets, RTT / Outcome form data entry To be flexible to the needs of the department to ensure cover and smooth-running of the department as a whole

  • Competent computer skills are essential and a positive, flexible approach to the workload is necessary. Typing skills would be desirable but not essential. This is a busy role which will involve multi-tasking with ever-changing priorities.
