Full Job Description

  • Respond to client queries in a prompt and professional manner, either directly, or in support of other colleagues

    Science Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant analytical role
  • In-depth understanding of GC & GC-MS methodologies, specifically in the environmental testing / water sector
  • Fully conversant with the requirements of ISO17025 accreditation (essential) and MCertS (preferable)
  • Communication skills
  • PC literate - Intermediate
  • Technical Knowledge
  • Advanced analytical experience

  • Adherence to the Eurofins Chemtest Quality Management System including root cause analysis and communicating with clients on technical matters.
  • Assistance in maintenance programs for the Departments specific analytical instrumentation and any other analytical equipment used by the Department. Maintenance procedures shall ensure that instruments are kept in a clean and serviceable condition and that routine in house maintenance procedures are kept up to date.
  • Develop and implement business improvement ideas, across all areas of the organics lab, which will enhance instrument availability, reduce the amount of re-work and the number of customer queries, and improve the quality of our analytical capabilities, and the service our clients receive
  • Assist with fixing instruments when they are out of service
  • Investigate and conduct non routine methodology and data generation as required by client and business
  • Support organics department in areas requiring advanced expertise in analytical chemistry
