We are a small but perfectly formed team supporting NHSBT's purpose to save and improve even more lives, what could be more purposeful work? We need a skilled and experienced Organisational Design and Development Lead to be a strategic partner to the business and play a crucial role in making our ambition a reality, through whole system interventions. This could be leading the OD elements of our People Plan and transformation agenda, supporting our leadership teams to be high performing, through interventions such process consulting, operating model reviews or co-creating and implementing performance and talent solutionsThe OD team is part of our Leadership, Performance and Culture Centre of Excellence. You will act as a key change leader, drawing on your deep and specialist understanding of OD philosophies, practices, methods and interventions, to shape, embed, and reinforce our desired culture and behaviours, whilst building change capability and capacity across NHSBT.   • Main duties of the job You will be in the Leadership Performance and Culture centre of excellence and will be responsible for shaping, embedding, and reinforcing NHSBT's desired culture , whilst building change capability and capacity across NHSBT. In this role, your responsibilities will include :
  • Engaging with stakeholders and clients at all levels within the organisation to build effective high challenge, high support working relationships to enable the delivery of the organisation's strategy and particularly a high performing and intentionally inclusive organisation
  • Analysing the organisation's strategy, OD strategy, business plans and the wider NHS system to determine priority OD interventions that will deliver the greatest return on investment and value for the organisation
  • Working with high levels of autonomy to interpret and lead on OD needs and requirements across multiple service streams / programmes of change activity, to optimise organisational effectiveness and support the delivery of the NHSBT's strategy
  • Carrying out highly complex OD interventions, in conjunction with the client, using a range of quantitative and qualitative methods to drive insight into the effectiveness and impact of the intervention against agreed outcomes
  • Working collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team, taking the lead of the organisational analysis of the strategy and development and implementation of interventions which deliver change and agreed service improvements
  • Developing OD objectives and plans required to enable prioritisation of work and deliver planned change and avoid the destabilisation of BAU priorities / KPI's.
  • This will include producing regular reports illustrating progress against objectives and next steps. Championing OD Initiatives that support NHSBT Strategic aims and objectives and act as a role model for NHSBT values and behaviours

  • Experience in a senior Organisation Design and Development (OD) role, working in a multi-site service.
  • Experience of successfully delivering OD interventions, at whole system level, clearly aligned to the organisation's strategy.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrable experience of, application of key OD models, interventions and theories, using the OD Consultancy cycle
  • Experience of working with colleagues at all levels, in a variety of settings, to achieve desired outcomes., Hold a Masters or equivalent qualification in Organisation Design and or Development, or related subject or has demonstrable equivalent relevant experience to Masters level
  • Demonstrable relevant post qualification development
  • Be an active member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Organisation Development Network Europe (ODNE), European Organisation Design Forum (EODF) or an equivalent professional body
