Orthoptic Clinical Assistant

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Following training undertake patient assessments including eye sight testing, back of eye photographs and instill eyedrops in preparation for out-patient procedures
• Work within a team to ensure high quality patient care
• Support and maintain the service stock level
• General administration duties, + to assist in the delivery of high quality care
+ able following training to assess a patient's eyesight and eye pressure + assist the orthoptic team in preparing patients for an out-patient procedure by instil eyedrops and attaching electrode wires to the patients forehead + liaise with the clinical teams and clinic coordinators to support smooth running of the service + maintain accurate electronic patient records Administrative + ensure stock levels are maintained + answer the telephone and provide patient advice as necessary Continued professional development + attend staff and trust meetings as required + actively engage in annual appraisal and training development plan Due to the nature of this position, employment is subject to proof of eligibility to work in the UK, completion of a satisfactory DBS disclosure and two references.
