Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Orthotist to join our growing team in Somerset. Within this role, you will assess, design and fit orthoses to support patients with a wide range of physical challenges, improving their mobility, function and quality of life. You'll work closely within a multidisciplinary team, working across the county at both Yeovil District Hospital and Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. We also hold clinics at other sites including South Petherton Community Hospital and at a school in the area. In particular, you will play a key role in the Diabetic MDT clinics which take place at both Yeovil and Musgrove Park, and provide cover for the wards at acute sites. We also hold MDT clinics in paediatrics and for neurological patients, so your caseload will be varied. We offer a very supportive working environment with plenty of opportunities for CPD and to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We also have two apprentices currently within the team, and regularly support work experience and other students so providing education and training is a key part of this role. The role is B5 or B6 depending upon your stage in your career. If you are newly or recently qualified then you will be taken through a period of preceptorship. B6 will be considered for those with more clinical experience, usually having worked as an Orthotist for at least two years.,
