Full Job Description

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) is at the heart of energy in the UK. The electricity we provide gets the nation to work, powers schools and brings energy to life. Our energy network connects the nation, so it is essential that it is continually evolving, advancing, and improving.

In NGET we are passionate about both operating our network safely and providing highly reliable quality of supply for our customers. At the heart of achieving these outcomes is the effective control and operation of our network.

As OT Network Management Centre (NMC) Analyst you'll play a key role, working alongside other Analysts and Network engineers to locally triage operational, project and security issues to support, configure and deploy solutions, ensuring that operational and security integrity is always maintained.

You will help shape, develop and enhance the stability of the NMC network infrastructure and services, focusing on tasks such as routine upgrades, managing BAU incidents and supporting project workstreams. There will also be scope to get involved with complex diagnostics and monitoring of key metrics.

Supporting and monitoring the performance and availability of the OT Network Infrastructure, you'll utilise network management tools to detect and respond to network incidents and vulnerabilities, making sure processes and procedures are in place and followed.

You'll be based at our offices in Warwick 2 days per week and this can be combined with hybrid working from home.

With a Level 4 (eg. HNC) or higher-level qualification or equivalent experience in cyber security, networking or an engineering related discipline, you'll have experience of working in a network or security operations centre, ideally with a background in engineering or cyber security.

You'll have experience of working in a technical environment within a large corporation managing network assets and devices, and you'll have a methodical and positive approach to problem-solving with excellent organisation and planning skills.

Experience of service recovery, particularly in stressful and pressured environments, as well as experience of managing incidents and project support is key, as are good communication and interpersonal skills.

You'll have experience with network management tools, coupled with an awareness of cyber security principles. In addition, you'll be an excellent team player who can prioritise workload independently.

At National Grid, we work towards the highest standards in everything we do, including how we support, value and develop our people. Our aim is to encourage and support employees to thrive and be the best they can be. We celebrate the difference people can bring into our organisation, and welcome and encourage applicants with diverse experiences and backgrounds, and offer flexible and tailored support, at home and in the office.
