Out of Area Officer

Wakefield Virtual School is seeking to recruit to the position of Support Officer for children in care placed out of Wakefield. Your role will be to support the Out of Authority Lead Officer to ensure the improvement of educational outcomes for the cohort of this post. The role does not involve extensive travel, as Wakefield Council seeks to utilise technology in working in a modern workplace. The Virtual School is a statutory function of the Local Authority with a purpose to improve the academic outcomes of our Children in Care (CiC). The Virtual School supports other professionals working with children in their care, by sharing good practice in education and being ambitious for their outcomes. The Virtual School seeks to champion the needs of CiC in promoting academic outcomes, excellent attendance in education and ensure that all children have the opportunity to achieve, and it is expected that candidates have an understanding of this.
