Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Out of Hours Tanker Driver to join our team. This role involves attending emergency call outs during non-standard hours, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends.,
- Transportation: Safely transport waste to approved disposal sites.
- Compliance: Adhere to all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Safety: Ensure the safe loading and unloading of tanker contents, including following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, report any maintenance issues, and ensure the tanker is in optimal condition.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, including delivery logs, maintenance reports, and safety checklists.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous service to clients, ensuring delivery requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle any emergencies that may arise during transportation, including spills or accidents, following all safety protocols.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with the dispatch team to report progress, delays, or any issues encountered during the shift.
Licensing: Valid Class 2 HGV license with CPC - Experience: Proven experience as a tanker driver, preferably with experience driving during non-standard hours.
- Skills: Strong driving skills, knowledge of tanker operations, and an excellent safety record.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including loading/unloading and conducting vehicle inspections.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Experience: Previous experience in dealing with emergency call outs.
- Training: Certification in CPC.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other transportation management software.
