An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Outpatient Receptionist within Renal Department based at the Kings Mill Hospital Campus of NUH . This post is 19.5 hours per week over days to be confirmed The hours will be on the reception rota. This is a permanent post. The successful candidate will be,meeting and greeting patients and visitors. Prepping for outpatient clinics, providing all reception duties and recording clinic outcomes. There will also be an element of admin support required for the secretarial team at KMH. You must be an enthusiastic and reliable team player, able to work under pressure, have excellent customer service skills, the ability to organise and prioritise your workload accordingly and have excellent written and verbal skills. Previous work experience in a hospital setting, including an outpatient receptionist/clinic prep would be an advantage but not essential, as well as a clear understanding of confidentiality issues. Renal is a large specialty within the Cancer and Associated Specialists Division. Our main unit is based at Nottingham City Hospital, we also have satellite units at King's Mill Hospital, Lings Bar and Ilkeston Community Hospital. The speciality is comprised of numerous arms that make-up the wider Speciality, these include, but are not limited to:
- Dialysis
- Home therapies
- Nephrology
- Transplant Surgery, Print clinic lists from Medway PAS in advance of clinic date and using Medway PAS.
- Greet patients at reception, check their personal details are correct, and if necessary amend in Medway PAS accordingly, ensuring patient confidentiality.
- Using Medway PAS or any other relevant electronic booking systems arrange appointments for follow up clinics, as instructed by the medical/nursing staff. Arrange transport if necessary.
- Add follow ups to review lists for partially booked.
- Deal appropriately with enquiries from staff and the general public, seeking advice or referring elsewhere if necessary.
- Ensure all clinic outcomes are recorded accurately on the day.
- Prepare admin for all clinics.
- Keep personally updated and be able to advise patients in relation to peripheral services available, i.e. transport, interpreting services etc.
- Notify Out-patient Co-Ordinator or designated person of any patients who fail to attend appointments who will take necessary action in line with departmental and/or Trust Policies.
- Receive and respond to enquiries from relatives/external agencies adhering to Trust confidentiality guidelines at all times.
- Be able to competently use Medway PAS and other information technology systems and participate in training programmes to develop and update personal skills to meet the needs of the department.
- Maintain tidy, safe working environment, reporting any hazards or faults timely and appropriately dressed when on duty.
- Undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be required.
- Ensure RTT patient data is accurate at all times.
- Alert Outpatient Co-Ordinator of clinic capacity issues as they arise.
