Full Job Description
We're seeking an Outpatient Lead Nurse to work within our Outpatient Team. At Healthshare Clinic West London, we have an 8 bedded day surgery unit and theatre complex with 1 theatre and 4 recovery bays. We provide Surgery for the following specialties: Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Chronic Pain Management Weight loss, Plastics and General Surgery, and are looking to expand our portfolio of specialties. The purpose of the Outpatient Lead Nurse role is to clinically and operationally support the outpatient department to promote and ensure excellent patient care and take responsibility to lead the department under the direction of the Executive Director. You will be responsible for the deployment, supervision and mentoring of staff within the clinical area and will support the hospital management team in providing clinical leadership.Main duties of the job The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day management of the outpatient department, ensuring the efficient and effective use of all recourses in order to deliver high quality, safe and effective patient care in an environment of continuous improvement. This is a clinical role and the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and evidence based clinical care including phlebotomy and cannulation, assisting consultants with minor operations and gynaecology procedures, wound management, injections etc. The postholder will be expected to regularly assess and deliver direct patient care in order to maintain professional competence, authority and credibility. You will be required to set and maintain high standard of care, be accountable for auditing and monitoring of care, and working flexibly in order to meet the needs of the service. The post holder is professionally and managerially accountable to the Executive Director and is expected to work closely with other staff and leads within the hospital to ensure care delivery is safe and efficient care. Develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders both internally within Healthshare and externally e.g., consultants, suppliers, local NHS Trusts. The post may require, liaison with a range of health, social services and voluntary sector personnel and members of other agencies.
