Full Job Description
It is a requirement of the role that you have a full driving licence and use of a reliable car. Applicants will be working across the East of Surrey, with some meetings at our Woodlands base. Mileage will be reimbursed for travel at a current rate of 45p per mile. The position is for qualified teachers and will be paid at MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance, pro-rata for 3 days. Initially the post will be for a fixed term, length of term to be confirmed as linked to funding.
An Enhanced DBS check will be essential. Please note that we will be undertaking online searches on shortlisted candidates, in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education.

We are currently looking to appoint an additional part-time Outreach Teacher within our Outreach Department to begin as soon as possible, supporting primary schools in the East of Surrey including Tandridge, Reigate & Banstead, Mole Valley, Epsom & Ewell and Elmbridge. The role will involve visiting mainstream settings to promote autism-friendly environments and to support staff with meeting the needs of their young people. The role requires an in-depth knowledge of a range of strategies to support autistic pupils and experience of supporting pupils in the classroom. Strong communication skills are required as you will be meeting with both parents and staff members to discuss their concerns and problem-solve. A good standard of written English is essential as a report is completed following each visit. Delivering a range of training is also a part of the role. All members of the team are involved in whole school training including twilights.
Woodlands School is an outstanding special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years of age with Severe or Profound Learning Difficulties. In addition, some pupils have complex medical needs or autism. Woodlands is the provider for Autism Outreach for Schools and Supporting Inclusion for Autism (SIFA) in East Surrey.
