Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join our Public Health team to support us to deliver this sensitive, challenging and rewarding role as our Child Death Overview Panel Coordinator. The post is 22 hours temporary for 18 months. When a child dies it is a devastating loss that profoundly affects all those involved. The process of systematically reviewing the deaths of children is grounded in respect for the rights of children and their families, with the intention of understanding what happened and why, and whether there are any lessons to be learned that might prevent future child deaths. The Durham and Darlington Child Death Overview Panel is responsible for ensuring reviews are carried out after the deaths of children and young people aged under 18 years from across the local authority areas of Durham and Darlington. The post will be hosted within Durham County Council on behalf of the relevant partners across Durham and Darlington (ICB and Local Authorities). You will be required to co-ordinate the work of the Durham and Darlington Child Death Overview Panel. Working closely with the Chair, the Designated Doctor for Child Deaths, the administrators in the various trusts and hospitals to manage and develop the work of Durham and Darlington Child Death Overview Panel, acting as adviser to the Panel members and coordinating the panel meeting processes, ensuring work is carried out effectively and consistently across the two authority areas. You will be responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of the eCDOP software, to include training and development of new users and ongoing quality assurance and consistency., Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
