Full Job Description

The Central P&A team plays a crucial role in supporting Investec plc's strategic decision-making processes. This position involves analysing financial data, developing forecasts, and providing insights to executive level stakeholders to drive our financial performance. The team resides within the wider Finance function and is responsible for producing group management reporting including Board Reports, liaising closely with Investor Relations during market updates, providing ad-hoc analytical support for strategic decision making and partnering with Technology to evolve our core Finance technology capabilities. What will I be doing?

  • Reviewing financials with a view to understand, explain, and as necessary, improve performance
  • Creation and distribution of monthly ExCo Reports and Board papers
  • Consolidating the annual 3 year P&L & Balance Sheet plans
  • Collating and reviewing the annual stress scenarios as prescribed by the Stress Testing and Capital Planning teams
  • Coordinating the review process with Risk, Finance and Capital
  • Assistance in preparing the presentation of the final plans by senior management to the Board and submission to the regulator
  • Monitoring and analysing industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks
  • Driving system improvements to continue streamlining processes and ensuring new business and reporting requirements are accommodated
  • Elevating existing reporting standards as necessary
  • Supporting ad-hoc analysis and projects as required
  • In addition, the individual would:
  • Participate in wider group initiatives including KPI measurement
  • Provide cover for the monthly reporting process

    Management Accounting experience (essential)
  • Previous experience in Financial Services/Large Corporate (essential)
  • Previous involvement in PRA 3 year planning (advantageous)
  • Strong relationship management skills, able to influence and build rapport
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Systematic approach in analysing and solving problems with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, managing conflicting priorities
  • Pro-active with a strong work ethic
  • Strong Excel skills (essential) and knowledge of JDE/Essbase/Hyperion highly desirable
