Job title Personal assistant to the SENDCO

Grade Scale 7

Reports to SENDCO

Liaison with College staff, visitors, external agencies, students, ECC staff

Main Duties

  • To provide confidential executive assistance and secretarial support to the SENDCO


  • Responsibilities

  • Keep the SENDCO's diary and act as appointments secretary for the SENDCO

  • Provide a personal assistant service for the SENDCO, including clerical, administrative and

  • reprographic support as required. Maintaining personal correspondence with staff and drafting
    letters for approval
  • Booking courses and meetings as requested

  • Assist with new projects, manage and co-ordinate new projects

  • Provide a word processing service for the as required with accurately typed documents, reports

  • and correspondence, meeting deadlines as required
  • Booking rooms, welcoming guests and organising refreshments as required

  • Organisation of meetings and conferences either within the college

  • Minuting any meetings as required, including parent meetings & annual reviews

  • Communicate with staff to collect relevant information

  • To organise and oversee the LSA timetable

  • To collate and maintain the SEND register

  • To be responsible for the maintenance of IEPs

  • To administer Student Passports

  • To be responsible for administering special examination considerations

  • To deal with the administration of referrals efficiently

  • To appropriately liaise with parents and agencies, including social workers, speech and language

  • therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists

  • To undertake any training commensurate with the post

  • To work with the College and Governing Body to ensure that effective communications are

  • maintained with particular emphasis on customer care and college ethos
  • To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility

  • for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line
    manager
  • To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health & safety in the

  • workplace
  • Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the College's Equal

    Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

  • Experience in arranging and supporting virtual meetings across a

  • range of platforms

    Represent the SENDCO in face to face, written and oral

    Ability to complete detailed reports, forms and letters
