Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within the Patient Access Centre for a permanent Supervisor in the General Surgery Team.
The Supervisor plays an important role within the Department, working closely with the Management Team to ensure the efficient and effective operational management of all administrative services.
You will be responsible for ensuring that national and local targets are delivered, that the quality of care is of the highest standard and for continually improving processes and procedures., + Line management of 6 Band 2 booking clerk staff. To include but not limited to management of sickness, annual leave, performance, training, team meetings, yearly appraisals.
+ Management and planning of Staff Rota ensuring there is adequate cover on the phones, supporting the team as required during staff absence. Escalating any staffing issues to the Management Team as required.
+ Management of capacity issues, escalating issues as required.
+ Supporting booking clerk team on the phone lines to ensure all call targets are met.
+ Supporting the Management Team in the recruiting and training of new staff into the team as required.
+ Liaising with a multi-disciplinary team of both clinical and administrative staff to ensure all service targets and standards are met.
+ Supporting the Management Team to ensure all Local, Trust and NHS England targets are met as expected.
+ Attending RTT meetings as required. You will have knowledge of clinic management and booking rules, proven experience of working in a supervisory role within an administrative setting and of working with a multi skilled team.
Proven experience in line management and change management are also desirable., The Patient Access Centre is comprise of 7 teams who book 95% of all outpatient booking across the acute and community organisations. Therefore, you must be able to work independently, demonstrate excellent prioritisation and time management skills and have the ability to cope with complex situations.
