Full Job Description

Leading the packing line team in the delivery of the daily production plan for the shift, allocating resources as appropriate and in line with health and safety, technical and quality requirements. Also ensuring all machinery and equipment is set up correctly, operating to agreed standards/parameters with complaints minimised through the correct folding, sealing and coding of packaging.,

  • Managing the packing line team particularly during start ups, line changeovers and shut downs to ensure all procedures are followed and records maintained.
  • Undertake effective employee communication, including a start of shift briefing to ensure understanding of the requirements of the production plan and other briefings/updates as appropriate.
  • Ensuring all employees are trained to undertake duties within their job description and are fully aware of requirements of product quality, food safety, Company procedures and Health and Safety within the work area.
  • Maintain high standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) ensuring that areas of work are maintained to a high level of housekeeping.
  • Completion of records and reports as required by the Shift Manager to account for usage, quality, breakdowns, efficiency etc.
  • Ensure all materials and components are to specification and in place on time to meet the production plan.
  • Responsible for setting Packing Line plant and equipment to optimum standards to minimise downtime and maximise equipment efficiency through reactive and proactive approaches.
  • - Complete Machinery check sheets as required and action where necessary - Keeping the equipment and areas of working in a suitable and practical condition which adheres to Technical, Quality, Hygiene and H&S standards - Carry out basic TPM work (Total Productive Maintenance) in accordance with the monthly schedule and as instructed by the Engineering Department. - Effective and efficient use of resources, including spare parts, consumables and equipment - Ensure all packs are closed and sealed correctly - Ensure all Date Coding and Labelling equipment is operating correctly
  • Building effective relationships with other departments/work areas e.g. Engineering, Warehouse. Liaising on a regular basis to ensure all services are provided to production in a timely way and to agreed standards.
