Full Job Description

Do you have a passion for working within a paediatric setting? Would you like to work in a challenging environment?We are looking to recruit Band 6 Charge Nurses/Sisters., The post holder will be designated to take charge of the Ward regularly, being responsible for the management of the ward during the shift, including the organisation of the ward activities and the management of staff and resources.

The post holder will have direct involvement in the delivery of a high standard of care to the patient and their relatives.

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and writing of guidelines, policies and standards relating to children/young people in line with Government and Trust directives and monitoring standards through audit and evaluation.

The post holder will participate in the education and training of nursing students and will act as a role model to junior staff and other team members.

The post will require you to work a mix of shifts. The busy Children's Ward has an identified Paediatric Assessment Unit, High Dependency Area, Young Person's Area and a Dedicated Day Case Ward. We can offer a range of training opportunities.We require someone who is adaptable to work in all areas of the ward and who is a real team player. The successful candidate will have recent experience of working within an acute setting., The post holder will have recent experience of working within an acute setting.
