Full Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Practice Development Team at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton as the Clinical Educator for the Children's Surgical Ward. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Paediatric Nurse who is keen to share their expertise in children's surgical care

The post holder will be part of a dynamic and innovative Paediatric Practice Development team. They will responsible for facilitating nursing and multi-professional staff development in the Children's Surgical Ward. They will work closely with members of the team supporting them to provide excellent care in the clinical area. As part of the Practice Development Team, they will be involved in delivering high quality internal training programmes.

The post holder will be an expert in the assessment, planning and implementation of all areas of paediatric emergency care. They will work as part of the Practice Development team to ensure competence of all staff to maintain excellent standard of care is delivered in the department.

The post holder will be required to work predominately on weekdays and mainly based in the clinical environment. You will be supported by the Paediatric Practice Development Lead to further develop your skills and knowledge in clinical education., Teaching and supporting nursing staff to develop their skills in clinical area, to ensure that they meet their competencies to deliver a high standard of care for the sick children and young people within the Children's Surgical Ward. Create a positive learning environment that promotes staff continued professional development. Influence and implement the education strategy within the Children's Hospital, and be at the forefront of nurse education and workforce development.
