Full Job Description

We have a team of specialist paediatric dietitians and if this clinical area is still quite new to you we can offer support, supervision and a competency based training package. You will have the opportunity to be involved in student training. The post will mostly focus on inpatients and you will work with the paediatric MDTs and have support from the paediatric outpatient and home enteral feeding dietetic team. We are keen to provide development opportunities for our staff to progress your dietetic career journey and as a trust we proactively promote your wellbeing.,

  • Providing dietetic assessment, advice, treatment and counselling to support behavioural change in children and their families/carers through one to one interviews, group sessions, structured education.

  • Autonomously managing a highly complex caseload and work with children and their carers to agree patient centred care

  • Working collaboratively with the wider multi- disciplinary health care team to ensure delivery of coordinated care and to provide specialist advice and attend case conferences, network meetings as appropriate.

  • Evaluating patients' progress and contribute to and implement service improvement work

  • Using a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients to implement treatment plans.

  • Providing advice and training to patients, carers, colleagues and other healthcare professionals to promote an understanding of the aims of dietetic treatment to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.

  • Managing clinical risk within own caseload and an understanding of safeguarding, Applications will be transferred to the TRAC system, by completing an application you are giving authorisation for the transfer of your data. Including factual reference, occupational health clearance and statutory and mandatory training records
