Full Job Description

To provide a specialist Paediatric Dietetic service to infants and children (0-16 years) including Special Needs Children, under the care of the Consultant Paediatricians in Darent Valley Hospital, and General Practitioners and Community Paediatricians in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley and Bexley.
To be an integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Paediatric Teams at Darent Valley Hospital, and contribute when necessary to the Multi-Disciplinary Teams for Diabetes, Willow Ward, for Gastroenterology, and for Eating Disorders.
To provide education and training to trained Nursing staff, Doctors, General Practitioners and other Primary Care Professionals and to Student Nurses, Students in Primary Care professions and Dietetic Students within the department

We require an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated dietitian to join our friendly and innovative Paediatric Dietetic Team. You will be part of a team of 6 Paediatric Dietitians, covering a variety of specialties including inpatients, outpatients, allergy, diabetes, gastroenterology and home enteral nutrition. We would welcome an informal conversation with you to discuss your areas of interest and would also consider flexible working opportunities/ job share. You will contribute to the wider integrated acute and community Dietetic Service for the population of Dartford, Gravesham & Swanley and the Dietetic Outpatient service for Bexley residents.
Within your clinical role you will work in different settings and work closely with the multidisciplinary paediatric teams across primary, secondary and tertiary care, so excellent communication skills are essential. You will already have clinical paediatric experience and will be able to take on the clinical lead for one of the paediatric dietetic specialties we support and provide supervision for junior members of the team. You will also be involved in the review and development of departmental and organisational guidelines and provide training programmes for the multi-disciplinary team.
