Full Job Description

The post holder will support the clinical leads in either diabetes or inherited metabolic disorders and manage a complex and varied inpatient caseload. Your caseload could include cardiology, nephrology, ketogenic or critical care in addition to general paediatric inpatients. The post holder will also manage a monthly outpatient clinic providing dietetic support to infants and children with faltering growth, food allergies and restrictive eating.

The successful candidate once fully trained will be expected to participate in the on-call rota to support continuity of services over weekends and Public Holidays.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent relationship management skills and a practical, forward thinking approach to service development and evaluation and the ability to work in a team. You will work within a friendly, supportive and highly skilled team of paediatric dietitians providing secondary and tertiary care and have numerous opportunities for professional and personal development. You will be actively involved in the research, audit and the Clinical Governance agenda of the department and UHB.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board have an exciting opportunity for a paediatric dietitian looking for a new challenge or a band 5 keen to work within paediatric dietetics. Paediatric dietetic experience is not essential as we can fully support your development. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and an interest towards working with children and their families, The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
