Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow (SHO level) in Paediatrics based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital for 6 months.

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital provides a comprehensive range of neuro-musculoskeletal healthcare ranging from the most complex spinal injury or sarcoma to paediatric rheumatology, metabolic bone medicine and specialist rehabilitation.

The global top-ten ranking highlights the crucial work the RNOH does in treating and supporting patients with some of the most complex and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as vital research and development into future treatments., The post will be supporting the paediatric medical team at the RNOH in the capacity of junior clinical Fellow.

This post only has daytime responsibilities and primarily involves the medical management of children and adolescents undergoing orthopaedic and scoliosis surgery, often with underlying neurological diagnoses such as: cerebral palsy, or genetic syndromes such as Rett syndrome. Some children are not admitted for surgery but for rehabilitation (especially spinal cord injury rehabilitation). The clinical work is inpatient based and directed by daily consultant-led ward rounds..

The appointee will be expected to work closely with the paediatric multi-disciplinary team for the management of inpatients on our 27 bed children's ward. As a valued member of the team you will be included in the educational and training activities of the units and will be offered study leave. Clinical research, audit and quality improvement activities will also be encouraged.
