Full Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated person to take responsibility for the efficient and effective organisation of the outpatient's department. This includes managing the nursing team and the delivery of the service in a busy, purpose-built Children's outpatient's department, providing a service for West Norfolk and surrounding area.
You will assist in the delivery of a family-centred, clinically effective, and dynamic service for the babies/child's/young person's who use the service. You will be responsible for signposting and referring where appropriate.
You will be supporting the MDT and external service providers, as there are outpatient clinics provided by visiting consultants from tertiary units, including orthopaedics, cardiology and surgery, renal and urology., To provide quality care to children in partnership with families and carers who attend the outpatient department.
Ability to clinically assess children and young people seeking assistance when required. Clinical skills such as venepuncture and competencies in accessing central lines would be beneficial.
To support the provision of evidence-based care for children and young people with a variety of conditions, both short term and lifelong conditions in partnership with the children, families and MDT including non-QEH providers.
Maintain accurate patient documentation to comply with Nursing and Midwifery Council Standards for Records and Record Keeping, legal aspects, confidentiality, and management information requirements.
To communicate effectively with CYP, parent/carers and the wider MDT to ensure continuity of care. Where appropriate can give advice, provide demonstration teaching to parents.
Demonstrate an awareness of safeguarding issues, be able to assess risk and refer to professional teams as appropriate.
