Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Childrens Occupational Therapy team in Widnes and Runcorn in a specialist band 6 role.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with children and young adults across a variety of settings. We encourage applicants with experience of working in a paediatric setting or those who work with adults with physical, developmental conditions or complex needs and are looking to transfer those skills to a younger population. We can also support someone who wishes to return to practice.

The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) to be worked over 5 days. We welcome applications from suitable qualified staff who may wish to work on a part time or job share basis.

There is free parking at the base and expenses will be reimbursed, including bridge tolls when crossed for work purpose.

An enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to provide a high standard of Occupational Therapy to children and young people in Widnes and Runcorn.

An individual who already has paediatric experience or has an interest in paediatric care and child development and a willingness to develop their skills in this area.

An individual who can hold their own caseload. This will include functional and coordination assessments, intervention planning and the ability to evaluate and record outcomes for a range of children with complex conditions. There will also be a requirement to assess for specialist paediatric equipment in the school environment.

You will need to be a team player and work collaboratively as part of an integrated therapy team.

You will be required to undertake mandatory and service specific training and be involved in training and supervision of staff as required.
