Full Job Description

Working closely with the consultant teams, junior doctors, nursing teams and allied health professionals within our trust and the wider cancer network in the southwest, to advocate and care for upper GI patients.

To be a resource of information and advice for patients and professionals and to provide teaching and dissemination of knowledge through research, audit and educational events and conference.

Working within the hospital trust delivering specialist out patient clinics, including nurse led clinics for upper GI Cancer patients.

To give clinical advice to upper GI cancer patients, their families and other health professionals

To manage a caseload of patients through their cancer pathway to provide timely access to cancer care.

To discuss the side effects of treatments and prepare patients for surgery.

To meet the information needs of our patients and to provide emotional and psychological support during their diagnosis and treatment.

a skilled communicator with strong clinical knowledge and problem solving skills , who would like to be part of our Senior CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist) workforce.
