Full Job Description

The successful candidate will work alongside a team of other specialist nurses to manage and support a caseload of children with complex bladder problems. The post-holder will be based in Nottingham Children's Hospital and will provide care in an in-patient environment, in day case and out-patient areas, and occasionally in the community setting., Alongside the multi-professional team manage a caseload of patients requiring assessment and management of paediatric urology conditions
Be a point of contact for families with a child with bladder problems: Provide training, advice and support on catheterisation and bladder management
Be accessible to in-patient teams requiring support with bladder assessment
Undertake investigative procedures to diagnose bladder dysfunction, Take direct referrals and autonomously manage patients / clients with undifferentiated or unstable problems.
Assess, diagnose, discharge and refer patients / clients within a defined area of competence.
Be a visible point of contact for patients, visitors, relatives, and staff, acting as a resource for problems and able to clearly present the patients' / clients' points of view to others. Receive and investigate any complaints received.
Ensure that patient care plans are regularly updated, and changes implemented and that patients' records and documentation are maintained and current

In order to be considered for this post you must have experience of paediatric urology nursing, recent acute nursing experience, and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.

If you are aged 16 or 17 and applying for a role that is more than 20 hours a week, please be aware that you will be asked to commence an Apprenticeship within the Trust alongside your role, as long as there is a suitable apprenticeship standard available. Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

I also consent to the Occupational Health Department confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post. I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
+ Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£42.90 for enhanced and £22.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month's pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
