Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen to join the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) and Bereavement Team at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust . The PALS and Bereavement Team is part of the Patient Safety and Clinical Assurance department and supports The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in delivering a high-quality service. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients and their families during some of their most difficult times.
Direct experience of NHS concerns/complaints handling and/or bereavement experience is advantageous and an understanding and experience of working with cancer patients would also be beneficial. The successful candidate will be proactive, work using their own initiative and be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate with a wide range of people in challenging circumstances.The post holder will provide a public-facing service and will contribute to an efficient, compassionate, professional and comprehensive service for patients, relatives, carers and staff. The post holder will also work to ensure that the processes following the death of a patient are completed respectfully, correctly and in a timely manner. This will involve acting as a point of contact and source of advice for relatives of deceased patients, healthcare professionals, the coroner's office, registration services and providing support to the Medical Examiner Office., The post holder will play a key role in the provision of the Trust-wide Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).
