Full Job Description

As a Legal Officer within the Legal Team at Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water you will be working with legal colleagues and using your developing legal skills to support operational colleagues to address leakage on the water network. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Corresponding and negotiating with customers and third parties with a view to them voluntarily addressing leakage/water wastage on the part of the water network for which they are responsible.
  • Managing a large volume of matters through a case management process.
  • Advising on Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water's statutory powers and responsibilities in relation to addressing water leakage
  • Investigating and advising on responsibility for land, property, and pipework
  • Supporting in-house solicitors to exercise Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water's formal legal powers in respect of leakage when necessary
  • Utilise precedent documents to draft basic legal agreements
  • Undertaking legal research and gathering information from a variety of sources for the purposes of providing advice

    A relevant degree, professional qualification, or experience in a similar role
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence to have challenging conversations with customers and to deal with conflict
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Flexible and willing to play your part in a friendly and supportive team
