Full Job Description
Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Boardhas an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic paramedic fellow to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract for 2 fellowship sessions per week. The paramedic fellow post will offer a suitably experienced paramedic the opportunity to contribute to healthcare workforce transformation and through working within a multi-professional workforce, to develop and advance the roles of paramedics in primary care. Postholders will be expected to work substantively in a clinical role, with additional time being set aside for the purposes of the fellowship role for the equivalent of 1 day per week over the 12 month fellowship period. The post holder will act as a champion for paramedics in primary care, testing and refining innovative ways of working. Working with system partners to understand current working relationships to build and defines paramedic services which provide positive outcomes for the community.,
- Contribute to clinical workforce development and act in an interface role across the integrated care system.
- Undertake sessions within this role in addition to substantive employment within primary care.
- Deliver resources and education to support the integration and increased recruitment of paramedics in primary care.
- Support the primary care networks (PCN) and integrated are System (ICS) to engage with system partners around new paramedic roles.
- Support and champion paramedics.
NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our local population. We are accountable for the performance and finances of the NHS across Norfolk and Waveney a total budget of £2 billion a year. Known as NHS Norfolk and Waveney, the organisation works with local people, health and care professionals, and partner organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of our population. The organisation is part of the Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS). A system dedicated to working with partners in local government, the voluntary sector and others and helping the NHS to support broader social and economic development and to tackle inequalities in health outcomes. The role of the ICS is seen as one of facilitation, empowerment, and engagement. The ICS should focus on driving consistency and ensuring best practice is shared and adopted, and its governance should reflect this role. Member trusts and organisations are still responsible for delivering their own plans, though they should look to learn from each other.
