Full Job Description

Although the main focus of a Paraplanning role at BBT is working closely with our Financial Planners and the production of client suitability reports, we also offer the right candidates the opportunity to work closely with our Investment Committee or to develop into Financial Planner roles, should that be their ultimate career objective.,

  • Work closely with BBT Group's Financial Planners to formulate advice, ensure client files remain compliant and produce competent suitability reports.
  • Complete annual suitability review letters for clients and raising any other potential queries with the Financial Planner(s).
  • Assist the Paraplanning Supervisor and Investment Committee with maintaining centrally held research for the firm's Central Investment Proposition
  • Maintain accurate information within the firm's Client Management System., Act as a 'point of contact' within the office for nominated Financial Planners, ensuring that their cases are logged within the team and providing regular updates on the stage each case is at.
  • Preparing and maintaining client files.
  • Preparing compliant suitability reports.
  • Completion of annual suitability review letters in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conducting research on ad-hoc withdrawals of plans to assess suitability.
  • Liaising with the Client Services department on ad-hoc queries to ensure a continuous, high-quality service is provided to BBT's clients.
  • Ensuring that the Client Management System is kept up to date as per firm expectations.
  • Assisting with the training within the department where applicable.
  • Adhering to Data Protection and Financial Crime regulations.
  • Person Specification The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Ensure clients are treated fairly in accordance with the FCA's TCF principles.
  • Communicate effectively, both internally and externally.

    Achieved or working towards RQF Level 4 Financial Planning Diploma (CII preferred but not essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Good general level of IT competency.
  • Ability to competently work with remote colleagues.
  • Comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
  • Confident in independent working and comfortable raising questions where necessary.
  • Organised and methodical approach to work.
  • Eagerness to learn and pick up new skills quickly.
