Parent & Toddler Leader

The Salvation Army, Wickford Corps , is looking for a Parent and Toddler Leader who can run Noah's Ark (Carer and Toddler Group), ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for the children and families who attend and use the facilities.

You will work to meet the needs of the local community and support the Salvation Army's Parent and Toddler Group in Wickford., The post-holder will build relationships with parents / carers, is responsible for the children's activities, and will signpost families to the Corps Officer if they indicate that they want to explore their faith.

There is a requirement to open the building, set up the area, and work alongside the two volunteers already in the group.

They will also organize refreshments. The post holder will lead and develop the parent and toddler group to support the successful delivery of mission They will provide facilities and resources supporting play and social interaction for children whilst ensuring the room is safe and secure and toys and equipment are appropriate and in good condition.

• Have experience working with children or preschool children


• Knowledge of Child Protection guidelines; Ability to use initiative & to maintain confidentiality


• Good organisational skills & experience in food Preparation


• Ability to work within The Salvation Army's Christian ethos and key values : integrity, accountability, compassion, passion, boldness and respect


• We are looking for someone with proven interpersonal skills, previous experience in a similar environment, be able to work on their own initiative and in a team, enjoy working with people, and be able to deal tactfully with staff, volunteers, and the public.
