PARISH OFFICE CO-ORDINATOR

The Parish of Andover was formed in May 2023 and is part of the Winchester Diocese.

We are a growing, outward looking and vibrant parish with an extensive social action mission delivered by ‘Lighthouse’ building on strong links with the NHS, Town and Borough Councils and other charity and corporate organisations.

This role provides office management through strategic and detailed administrative work, Occasional Offices and Bookings for the Parish and financial management working with the treasurer

Specific areas of work

  • Manage the office and line manage some team members to ensure efficient functioning, including organising training and motivating staff and volunteers
  • Handle the Occasional Offices (weddings, baptisms & funerals) and bookings for the Parish utilising software including ChurchSuite and Life Events Diary
  • Support the treasurer utilising finance software to maintain accurate financial records and bank cash Handle general enquiries from parishioners and the public in person, via post, email, phone and social media
  • Support colleagues as required particularly noting areas of, safer recruiting, facilities maintenance, service rotas & purchasing
  • Work with the Communications Pastor to support the delivery of printed and digital materials including updating the WordPress website, Mailchimp newsletter and social media.
  • Work with the leadership to plot the annual calendar, administer the governance structure and provide statistical data management including service data, returns to Winchester Diocese, Revitalise Trust & the Church of England. General Intent
  • Be a proactive line of communication across all teams and functions by holding an overview of the work and people of all areas of the parish
  • Undertake any special projects or other tasks as may be requested and serve the church wherever there is a need
  • Share your learning generously within the staff and wider church community and to look for opportunities to resource others through your ministry
  • To keep accurate records and data of activities and to report impact / information accurately and in a timely manner as requested
  • Manage and communicate effectively with stakeholders and other professionals such as architects, civic leaders, PCN co-workers, Diocesan leaders etc.
  • Attend the annual staff team retreat and any other relevant team-wide training as may be required
  • Attend staff team meetings on Tuesday mornings 9-11am
