Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Parks Services Manager to provide leadership of and responsibility for the management of the Parks strategic, development and management teams.
The role will be public facing, working closely with community stakeholders and partners and also working with strategic internal services such as housing, sport, planning, transportation and waste. You will have the skills and abilities to lead teams effectively to deliver outcomes for people through good quality greenspaces, and lead an integrated service.
Main responsibilities and skill/abilities:
To liaise with customers and stakeholders, providing a service to local districts and relevant committees in respect of parks management, grounds maintenance and parks services
To provide direction for the Parks Service through consultation with stakeholders
To provide direction in partnership working through the Partnership Manager to increase income opportunities, including grant applications, seek different service delivery models
To liaise with other internal teams, user/community groups such as Friends of Parks groups
Experience in managing a team, delegating work and prioritising team commitments
Experience of Performance management, applying targets, monitoring and reporting progress
An ability to enthuse and motivate teams and individuals to meet performance targets and standards
Able to work in highly pressured environment and deal with complex and difficult situations
Skills in Partnership working across a wide selection of professions and the public
