Full Job Description

You will be supporting a new model of collaboration between local government and universities. Key elements of this role will include managing the programme of multi-partner meetings through which the HDRC is governed. You will diarise these meetings, maintain contact lists, an overall forward plan and action tracker. You will also prepare packs for project and board meetings. You will support with the logistics of events (e.g., room and venue booking) and maintain key documents and resources to support the delivery of the collaboration. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to work and develop as part of a strategic programme liaising across multiple partners. PRACTICALITIES All work is usually carried out within Mon- Fri, 9-5 office hours. Flexibility outside of these times may be needed to reflect specific projects. The role is County Hall, Chelmsford based. The majority of work can be carried out remotely but there will be a need to come into the office when required. The role will be task managed by the HDRC Intelligence Manager. What you will be doing

  • Supporting the HDRC Director and Programme leads in the delivery of key projects (e.g., supporting online and face to face events).
  • Managing the programme of HDRC meetings including scheduling, booking venues, preparing agendas, clerking meetings, and both capturing and tracking actions.
  • Supporting the HDRC's engagement with partners by diarising meetings with partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Managing HDRC documents (including research documents in line with GDPR requirements) and the MS Teams channel.
  • Updating report templates with information received from Project Leads (e.g., milestone reports).

    Substantial experience of minute/action taking and diary management.
  • Extensive experience of all the following Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

    The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) is one of a group of emerging centres of 'research excellence' based in local government and developed in partnership with academic institutions. These centres are focused on public health improvement and enabling partners to undertake research.
  • Research evidence is used to inform decisions concerning the social, economic and environmental 'wider determinants' of health'. The HDRC Greater Essex, is a partnership between ECC, Southend-on-Sea City and Thurrock Councils, as well as the University of Essex and Anglia Ruskin University., As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.     Please note that this is a fixed term contract / secondment opportunity for a period of 6 months, with possibility of extension to 18months+ and is a part time opportunity, offering 18.5 hours per week. The pro rata salary for 18.5 hours per week is from £11,672 to £13,406 per annum.
